About Beaconville Nursing Home
Beaconville Nursing Home is in Ivybridge in Devon. We provide nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia and people living with mental ill health, and we welcome respite guests alongside those living here permanently. With registered nurses on duty at all hours, medication, wound care, continence, long term conditions and care at the end of life are managed here rather than through repeated journeys to hospital. We work closely with local GPs, community nursing teams, therapists and mental health colleagues, and we ask for specialist advice early rather than waiting to see. Good nursing is only part of it. When somebody moves in we want to know about their life as well as their health, the work they did, the people who matter, what they like to eat and whether they would rather be up early or left in peace. That is what allows the care here to be about a person rather than a set of needs. For people living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried and we keep staff teams as consistent as we can, because recognising a face does more for somebody's confidence than anything else we can arrange. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time, and we would far rather you came and looked than took our word for anything.
