About Park Lane Care Home
We are Park Lane Care Home in Barnstaple, Devon. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here at every hour, which allows us to care for people with complex health needs and to act quickly when something changes. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses and specialist teams across north Devon so that care is joined up rather than fragmented. Good nursing care is largely a matter of attention. Noticing that somebody is eating less, that skin is beginning to redden, that a usually talkative person has gone quiet. Our team is trained to see those things early and to do something about them. Just as much of our effort goes into ordinary life. People choose when to get up and how to spend their days, keep their own belongings around them, and get outside when health and weather allow. Families visit when they wish and are welcome to share in care as much as suits them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our own practice rather than assuming a rating carries itself forward. If you are weighing up nursing care in the Barnstaple area, please visit us, meet the nursing team and take your time deciding.
