About Us
Morton Grange is a nursing home near Alfreton in Derbyshire. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition, people with a learning disability or autism and people with a physical disability. We also take respite bookings.
Having nurses on the premises changes what can be managed here. Wound care, catheters, complicated medication and health that shifts from one day to the next are dealt with in the home rather than through repeated journeys to hospital, which matters most at the stage when somebody is worn out by being moved around.
The clinical side is only part of the job. People here choose how their day runs, keep their own belongings about them, eat food they actually want and see their families whenever they like. Being nursed should not mean being managed, and we work at keeping ordinary life going alongside the treatment.
We speak plainly with relatives, particularly when health is changing, and we would rather ring you than wait for you to ring us.
Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
