About Nether Place Nursing Home
Nether Place is a nursing home in Keswick, in the heart of Cumberland. We provide both residential and nursing care, which means we can look after older people who mainly need help with daily life and people whose health needs call for a registered nurse on duty at any hour. A good many of the people who live here have known Keswick all their lives, and some have come back to it. Either way, the surroundings do something for people that no programme of activities can match. A view of the fells from a window, a slow walk by the lake or a cup of tea outside on a fine morning are worth having, and we make sure people get them where they can. Dementia care is a substantial part of our work. We build the day around what is familiar to the person, keep the staff group as steady as we can and take the trouble to learn a person's history, because it explains a great deal about how they feel now. We support younger adults too, where nursing care is what they need. Respite and short stays are available, including for people recovering after hospital and for families who need a planned break. You are welcome to come and look round Nether Place. Please ring us to arrange a time.
