About Parkview Nursing Home
We are Parkview Nursing Home in Croydon, south London. We provide nursing care for older people, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here at every hour of the day and night. Nursing care done well is mostly a matter of attention. Noticing that somebody is eating less, that a chest sounds different, that skin is beginning to redden, that a person who is usually chatty has gone quiet. Our team is trained to notice those things early and to act on them, working alongside local GPs, district nurses and specialist teams so that people are not left to deteriorate before anything is done. Dementia care asks for something more again: calm surroundings, a predictable rhythm to the day, and staff who understand that distress is a form of communication. We try to keep our teams familiar, so people are cared for by faces they recognise. Families are welcome here without appointment and without fuss. We would far rather relatives felt part of the place than felt like visitors to it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep looking at our own practice rather than assuming it will hold on its own. If you are considering nursing care in Croydon, please arrange to visit and see us on a normal day.
