About Us
We are Cedar Court Residential and Nursing Home in Seaham, County Durham. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we also look after younger adults with nursing needs. Respite stays are available.
Because we provide both residential and nursing care, people do not have to move on when their health needs increase. Families are often anxious about exactly that, and it is why we work at keeping our nursing team stable rather than relying on a constant stream of agency cover.
Nursing settings can easily feel clinical, so we push against it. People get up when they want, eat what they like, sit where they choose and keep their own furniture, pictures and habits. We ask about the details of a life, the work someone did, the music they like, the hour they prefer to be left in peace, and we write those things into how we work so they survive a change of shift.
For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail: knowing a person's history, recognising early what unsettles them, going at their pace rather than the timetable's.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to visit.
