About Us

At Bradbury House, we provide nursing care for older people, younger adults and individuals living with physical disabilities, right here in the heart of Crook, County Durham. We are proud to have received an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission, a reflection of the genuine commitment shown by every member of our team each and every day.

We understand that choosing a care home, whether for yourself or someone you love, is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. Our aim is to make that transition as smooth and reassuring as possible, taking the time to understand each person as an individual rather than simply a list of care needs. What matters to the people we support truly matters to us, and we build care around their preferences, routines and personal histories.

Our nursing team is on hand around the clock, providing clinical support for a wide range of physical health needs, while also ensuring that life here feels warm, homely and full of meaning. We support people who require long term nursing care as well as those who come to us for a shorter respite stay, perhaps to recover after a hospital admission or to give family carers a well earned break.

Younger adults with physical disabilities are very much part of our community at Bradbury House. We recognise that their goals and aspirations may look quite different from those of older residents, and we work hard to ensure care plans reflect that individuality.

We are based in Crook, a town we know well and feel rooted in. Our residents are not just in a care home, they are part of a community, and we work to make sure life here is lived with dignity, choice and a real sense of belonging.
