About St Margarets Nursing Home
St Margarets Nursing Home is at St Columb in Cornwall. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with everyday living. Having nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night is what lets us look after people properly as their health changes. We manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, and we work closely with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams so that treatment is joined up rather than fragmented. It also means somebody whose condition worsens can usually stay here, with familiar staff around them, instead of facing another move at the hardest possible time. The nursing is only part of the job. The rest is meals people enjoy, company when it is wanted, quiet when it is not, a proper night's sleep and staff who know how a particular person likes things done. We take the ordinary parts as seriously as the clinical ones. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing support for a few weeks, including after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Cornwall are welcome to visit.
