About Pengover Residential and Nursing Home

Pengover Residential and Nursing Home is in Liskeard, Cornwall. We provide both residential and nursing care, so we look after older people who need help with daily life, people who need qualified nursing, residents living with dementia, people with mental health needs, physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays. Having nursing on site matters a great deal in a rural county. It means that when someone's health changes we can usually manage it here, with wounds, medication, long term conditions and end of life care looked after by registered nurses working alongside local GPs and community teams, rather than sending people back and forth for miles. It also means people do not have to move on when their needs increase, which for somebody who has settled here is worth more than almost anything else we can offer. The home itself runs at the residents' pace. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how they spend the day, and rooms are furnished with their own things. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings calm and familiar and take time to understand what lies behind distress. Families are welcome here without appointment and we keep them properly informed. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Do come and look round.
