About Pendruccombe House

We are a nursing home in Launceston, Cornwall, caring for older people and for younger adults who need nursing support. We also welcome people for respite stays, whether planned in advance so that a family carer can have a break, or arranged at shorter notice when somebody needs a period of nursing care after an illness or a spell in hospital. Having qualified nurses here at all hours means that health needs which are complicated or changeable can be looked after without somebody having to move again, or spend their time travelling to and from hospital. That is what brings most families to us. What they notice once somebody is here is different and simpler. Whether the staff are kind, whether anyone has time to sit down for a few minutes, whether their relative seems settled. Supporting younger adults alongside older people takes thought, and we plan carefully so that everybody here has what they need rather than a compromise between them. The people who live here have had varied lives and a nursing home works best when it makes room for that rather than flattening everybody into one routine. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome and we would much rather you came and saw the place for yourself. Please contact us and we will arrange a time for you to visit.
