About Us
Here at Direct Healthcare 24, we are a nursing home based in the heart of the City of London, and we take genuine pride in the care and support we provide to the people who live with us and those we support in the community.
We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, people living with dementia, those with learning disabilities or autism, people with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also support younger adults who need nursing or personal care. Our aim is simple: to make sure each person feels seen, respected, and well looked after, whatever their needs may be.
Nursing care sits at the core of what we do. Our team works closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to create care plans that reflect each person as an individual, not just a diagnosis or a set of needs. We believe the small things matter enormously, whether that is knowing how someone takes their tea, what music they enjoy, or how they prefer to spend a quiet afternoon.
For those who wish to remain in their own homes, we also provide home care support, helping people to maintain independence and stay connected to the life they know and love.
Being based in London means we are well placed to draw on a broad network of health and social care professionals, and we work hard to build strong relationships with NHS colleagues, social workers, and community teams to make sure our residents and clients receive joined up support.
We know that choosing a care setting for yourself or someone you love is one of the biggest decisions a family can face, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. We are always happy to have an honest conversation about how we can help.

More about the care at Direct Healthcare 24 Limited
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Later life often brings a mix of needs that shift over time, from help with washing, dressing and continence through to prompting medication and simply having someone to share a cup of tea with. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered with the CQC for older person care, though as a newer service it has not yet received a rating. Families considering the home should ask how morning and evening routines are organised, how residents are supported to keep their own pace, and how choices about food, sleep and activity are respected. It is worth asking specifically about night staffing levels, how call bells are answered after dark, and how medication rounds are managed overnight. Ask too how the team communicates with GPs and district nurses when a resident's health changes.
Dementia
Good dementia care rests on familiar routines, an environment that feels calm and easy to navigate, and staff who understand how to communicate when words become harder. It also means noticing what a person still enjoys, whether that is a favourite piece of music, a walk in the garden or a particular way of taking breakfast. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered to support people living with dementia but has not yet been rated by the CQC, so families will want to see the home for themselves. Ask how the team responds when someone becomes distressed or anxious, how they reduce the risk of unsafe walking about, and how care plans are updated as memory and mobility change. It is also worth asking how relatives are kept involved in decisions.
Learning Disability / Autism
Adults with a learning disability or autism are supported best when care is built around the individual, protecting predictable routines, sensory preferences and the skills they already have. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered for this group, and placements are usually arranged through a local authority or NHS commissioner with regular reviews. Ask how goals for independence are set and tracked, and how the home works with families, advocates and health teams.
Mental Health
Adults living with enduring mental health conditions benefit from steady routines, respectful communication and a settled place to call home. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered to provide nursing care for people with mental health needs, though it has not yet been inspected. Families should ask about staff experience with specific conditions, how medication and mental state are monitored, and what the plan looks like if someone becomes unwell or reaches a crisis point.
Physical Disability
For adults with a physical disability, the everyday practicalities matter enormously, from accessible bathrooms and hoists to well fitted wheelchairs and doorways that work. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered to support people with physical disabilities as part of its nursing service. Ask to see the bedrooms, bathing facilities and communal areas, and check what moving and handling equipment is available. It is also worth asking how the home supports people to keep doing things for themselves wherever possible.
Visual / Hearing Impairment
Sight and hearing loss shape daily life in ways that are easy to underestimate, from finding the bathroom at night to following a conversation at mealtimes. Direct Healthcare 24 is registered to support people with visual or hearing impairment. Families should ask about lighting levels, contrasting signage, hearing loop availability and how staff introduce themselves and describe what they are about to do.
Nursing Care
Nursing care means a registered nurse is on duty around the clock to manage clinical needs such as wound care, catheters, PEG feeding, complex medication regimes and end of life symptom control. It suits people whose needs cannot safely be met by personal care alone, often following hospital discharge or a progressive illness. Direct Healthcare 24 in the City of London is registered for nursing care and has not yet been inspected by the CQC. Where a resident is assessed as eligible, NHS Funded Nursing Care contributes around 235 pounds a week directly to the home, reducing the amount the family or resident pays for the nursing element. It is sensible to ask how the home arranges nurse cover across day and night shifts and how it works with community health teams.
