About Us
We are Westwood Court Care Home, a nursing home in Winsford, Cheshire. We care for older people and younger adults needing nursing support, including those living with dementia, people with a mental health condition and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and we take respite admissions as well as permanent residents.
Having nursing staff here at every hour is what makes that range workable. Clinical needs are picked up by people who already know the resident, a change in health does not mean a move somewhere unfamiliar, and care at the end of life can be given here among people somebody already knows.
Where more than one condition sits in the same person, which is usual rather than exceptional, we try to look at the whole picture. Dementia alongside a hearing impairment is not two problems to be handled separately, and getting the hearing right often explains a good deal that had been put down to confusion.
Most of what works here is unremarkable on paper. Familiar staff, a routine that holds, time enough that nothing has to be rushed, and families who are asked early and kept informed.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
