About Us
Woodside Nursing and Residential Care Home is a nursing home in Luton, offering both residential and nursing care. We support older people, residents living with dementia, residents who have a learning disability, autistic residents, residents with physical disabilities and residents with visual or hearing impairment, and we provide respite stays for shorter periods.
Having qualified nurses alongside our care staff means a resident whose health becomes more complex does not have to move on elsewhere. We work closely with doctors, district nurses and therapists when someone's condition changes, and clinical care is given with the same regard for dignity and privacy as every other part of the day.
Because our residents differ so widely, we plan support one person at a time. We ask about history, family, work, faith and food, and we build the day from those answers rather than from the rota. Dementia care shapes much of what we do, so we keep the day familiar and offer reassurance rather than correction when someone is unsettled. For residents with sensory loss we adapt how we communicate and how shared spaces are arranged so that nobody is left out.
Families are part of life here and are welcome to be as involved as they wish. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we hold ourselves to it in the small details residents actually notice.
