About Rose Lodge Care Home

Rose Lodge is a nursing home in Halifax, in Calderdale, with qualified nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night. We care for older people whose health needs have gone beyond what residential care or support at home can safely manage, for people living with dementia and for younger adults who need nursing support. Respite stays are available as well. Nursing here covers medication, wound care, continence, nutrition, mobility and the monitoring of long term conditions, and we work closely with local health professionals so that changes are picked up early rather than late. Getting the clinical side right is what allows everything else about life to carry on, which is the actual purpose of it. Residents bring their own furniture, photographs and habits, and they keep their own opinions about how a day should go. People decide when to get up, where to sit, what they want to eat and whose company they want. Where somebody needs longer for personal care or for moving about, they get it, because rushing a person is neither dignified nor safe. For residents living with dementia we keep the setting calm and predictable and learn who somebody has always been. That knowledge is usually worth more than any technique when a day becomes difficult. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at nursing care in Halifax, please arrange to visit and meet the team.
