About Lindridge
Lindridge is a nursing home in Hove, with qualified nurses on duty at all times. We care for older people and younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. Respite stays are part of what we do. People usually come to us when health needs have grown beyond what support at home or a residential home can meet, and our task is to meet those needs without letting them become the whole of somebody's life. Nursing here means consistent attention to the things that keep a person comfortable and well: medicines, mobility, nutrition and hydration, skin, continence and pain, reviewed properly and talked through with the person and their family rather than handled quietly in the background. We involve GPs, district nurses, community mental health teams and specialists early rather than late. Around that, ordinary life carries on. People rise when they wake, sit where they choose, keep their own furniture and photographs about them, and eat food that suits their taste as well as any clinical need. Where there is sensory loss we attend to lighting, contrast and working hearing aids. With dementia we rely on knowing somebody well and keeping the day predictable. We are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and anyone considering the home is welcome to visit and ask us anything.
