About Brooklands Nursing and Care Home

We are Brooklands, a nursing and care home in Blackpool. We care for older people and for younger adults with nursing needs, including people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Our most recent CQC overall rating is outstanding. We are glad of it, though what we would rather be judged on is whether the people living here are having days they would choose. Having qualified nurses on duty at every hour is what allows us to look after people whose health is complicated or liable to change. Problems are noticed early by staff who know the person, treatment starts without waiting for an outside visit, and families are not left wondering about overnight cover. The nursing side is essential but it is not the purpose of the place. People live here, and we work at making that a proper life. Rooms are personalised, people get up and settle when they choose, and meals are something to look forward to. Where somebody has a visual or hearing impairment, we make sure every member of staff knows how they prefer to be approached and spoken with. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come and we keep them properly informed. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
