About St. Giles Care Home

St. Giles Care Home is a nursing home in Birmingham. We care for older people whose needs go beyond what residential care can manage, and for younger adults who need nursing support, with qualified nurses on duty through the day and night. We support people living with dementia, adults with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss. Because those needs are so different, we assess carefully before anybody moves in, and we say honestly when we do not think we are the right place. Once somebody is here, the plan is built around them and reviewed properly as things change. For residents with dementia we keep routines steady and staff consistent, and we take time to understand what is being communicated when words are difficult. Where there is a physical disability the right equipment is in place and staff are trained to help with moving comfortably and safely. For residents with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we speak and do not rearrange things without saying so. Good nursing should make an ordinary life possible, so residents choose when they get up, what they eat, where they sit and who comes to visit. We offer respite stays for people needing nursing care for a short period and for family carers needing a break. Please contact us if you would like to visit and see how the home runs.
