About Maples Care Home

Maples Care Home is a nursing home in Bexleyheath, caring for older people whose health needs have gone beyond what can be managed comfortably at home. Having qualified nurses on hand at all hours means changes in somebody's condition are noticed early and dealt with here wherever possible rather than through repeated hospital admissions. Much of our work is with people living with dementia. We keep the day unhurried and predictable, we make sure people see familiar faces and we pay attention to the details that anchor a person. We also care for people living with a physical disability, where dignity and practical independence matter as much as clinical care, and for people with sight or hearing loss, where sensible adjustments make a real difference. We support younger adults too, and we plan their day around their own interests. Respite care is available as well, for people recovering after a hospital stay and for family carers who need a break. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we prefer to say that outright. Until we do, come and look round, meet the nurses and carers and ask us whatever you need to, including the questions people often feel awkward asking.
