About Reablement Service
We provide reablement support at home in Worcester and across Worcestershire. Our purpose is to help people regain the ability to manage for themselves, usually after a spell in hospital, an illness, a fall or a period when things have become unmanageable. Where ordinary care does something for a person, we aim wherever possible to help them do it again themselves. In practice that means working on the things that actually matter at home: getting out of bed and moving safely, washing and dressing, preparing food and drink, managing medication and getting back out of the front door. Progress is often slow and not always in a straight line, and the gains that count are frequently small ones. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities and autistic people, people with mental health conditions, physical disabilities and visual or hearing impairments, and people whose difficulties involve eating disorders or the use of alcohol or drugs. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and work alongside therapists, nurses and general practitioners. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you want to know whether this kind of support would help you or someone in your family, please get in touch and we will talk it through honestly.
