About Fidus Care

We provide care at home in Windsor, Maidenhead and the surrounding area. Those we visit include older adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. How long a visit lasts is something we think about more than most. A quarter of an hour is enough to complete a task and nowhere near enough to do it well with somebody who is stiff, sore or slow first thing. So we would rather agree fewer and longer calls than fill a rota with short ones that look efficient and feel like being processed. We also pay attention to the gap between visits, since that is most of somebody's day. Are the tablets reachable. Is there something in the fridge they can manage alone. Has anybody rung. Those are what tell you whether a person is coping or quietly struggling. Where sight or hearing has gone we agree at the start how we will announce ourselves, and we keep to it consistently rather than leaving each carer to improvise. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. Ask us anything about how we recruit and train.
