About Us

We are Retain Healthcare in Salisbury, providing care at home for people across the city and the surrounding Wiltshire area. Our carers visit people where they live and provide the support that makes staying at home workable.

We support a broad range of people. That includes people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, people whose sight or hearing has changed, people living with an eating disorder, and people working to move on from difficulties with alcohol or drugs. Some of this work is highly practical and some of it is mainly about consistency and patience, and knowing which is which is a large part of the job.

Before support starts we sit down with the person, and with anyone they want there, to agree what would genuinely help and how they want their day arranged. That is written down, agreed and reviewed as circumstances change. We keep the same carers going to the same households as far as we can, because being supported by someone who knows you removes a great deal of daily friction and means changes are noticed early.

Our carers are trained and supervised, and they are expected to raise concerns rather than sit on them.
