About Us
We are Efficiency Health and Homecare, and we support people in their own homes across Malmesbury and the surrounding parts of Wiltshire. Our work usually begins with a conversation rather than a form. We want to know what matters to you, how you like your day to run, and where a little practical help would make the biggest difference. From there we agree a plan of care that fits around your routine instead of asking you to fit around ours.
Much of our work is with older people who want to stay independent in the home they know. We also support younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition or an eating disorder, and those living with a physical disability or with sight and hearing loss. In practice that might mean help with washing and dressing, prompting and recording medication, preparing meals, keeping on top of the housework, or simply being a reliable presence at the same time each day so that families further afield know someone has called in.
We try hard to send the same familiar faces to each person, because continuity is what turns a visit into a relationship. Our carers are trained for the needs they actually meet, they are properly supervised, and we review how things are going as circumstances change, which they often do.
Malmesbury is a close community and we are part of it. If you are weighing up care for yourself or for a relative, we are glad to talk it through with you without any obligation.

More about the care at Efficiency Health and Homecare Services - Malmesbury
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Day to day support at home for an older person in Malmesbury usually covers help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medicines at the right time, preparing meals and a bit of company through the visit. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered with the CQC for older person care, and typical home care rates across the South West run around £28 to £33 an hour, with Wiltshire Council funding packages where someone is eligible. Families weighing up the agency should ask how visits are timed against a person's own routine, who covers if the usual carer is off, and what happens if a call is needed in the evening or overnight. It is also worth asking how medicines are recorded and how quickly the plan is rewritten when things change.
Dementia
Living well with dementia at home tends to rest on familiar routines, carers who know the person and calm handling when someone is confused or upset. Because visits happen in the person's own surroundings, small things matter, such as keeping the order of the morning the same, noticing early signs of distress and knowing when to step back. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered for dementia care, so ask how carers are matched to people with dementia, what training they have had, and how the team responds when someone becomes distressed or tries to leave the house. Ask too how the plan is adjusted as the condition progresses, how family are kept informed, and how risks like missed medicines, falls or unsafe use of the kitchen are watched for between visits.
Mental Health
Adults managing an enduring mental health condition often do best with predictable visits, respectful support and clear plans for harder days. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered for mental health support at home. Ask how carers are briefed on a person's diagnosis and triggers, how medicines are prompted, and what the agency does if someone is in crisis between visits or refuses a call.
Physical Disability
Support at home for an adult with a physical disability usually blends personal care with help to stay independent, whether that is transfers, help in the bathroom or getting out into Malmesbury. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered for this care. Ask how carers are trained in safe moving and handling, how they work alongside any equipment already in the home, and how the visit plan flexes on stiffer or more tired days.
Visual / Hearing Impairment
For someone with sight or hearing loss, small habits from a visiting carer make a real difference, from announcing themselves at the door to keeping keys and remotes in the same place. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered to support people with a visual or hearing impairment. Ask how carers communicate with someone who lipreads or uses hearing aids, and how written notes are shared with a person who cannot easily read them.
Eating Disorders
Support around eating disorders at home calls for sensitive, structured help at mealtimes and careful liaison with the clinical team who lead treatment. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered for this area of care. Ask who from health services oversees the plan, how carers are briefed on what to encourage or avoid at meals, and how observations from visits are fed back to clinicians.
Younger Adults
Being under 65 and needing help at home is a different picture from later life care, often more about work, study, relationships and getting out than winding down. Efficiency Health and Homecare Services is registered to support younger adults. Ask how visits are shaped around a younger person's own week, how carers support choices about going out or having people over, and how the plan avoids feeling like care designed for someone much older.
