About Us
We are a home care agency based in Pontefract, supporting people across Wakefield and the towns around it in the place they know best, which is their own home. Familiar surroundings matter more than people expect. The chair by the window, the kettle in its usual spot, the neighbour who calls in on a Thursday: these are the ordinary things that hold a life together, and our work is to keep them possible rather than to replace them.
Most of the people we visit are older adults who want to stay independent where they are, whether that means a hand with washing and dressing first thing, help getting a meal ready, support with medication, or simply a reliable face at the same time each day. We also support younger adults, whose lives and ambitions are quite different, and we are careful not to treat one group as a version of the other. Someone building a routine around work or study needs something other than what suits a person in their nineties, and both deserve to be planned properly.
Before anything begins we sit down with the person and, if they would like, their family, and we agree what good support actually looks like in their case. That plan belongs to them and changes when they do. Our carers are trained, checked and introduced properly rather than sent as strangers, and we keep the same small team calling wherever we can.
We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly.
