About Us

Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Huddersfield supports adults in their own homes across Ossett, Wakefield and the surrounding area. We work with older people and with younger adults, with people living with dementia, and with people who have physical disabilities or sight and hearing loss.

Our starting point is that most people would rather stay where they are. The house is familiar, the neighbours are known, and the routines already make sense. What usually gets in the way is a handful of practical difficulties, so that is what we deal with: help with washing and dressing, medicines, cooking and eating well, keeping the place in order, shopping, and getting out to appointments, groups and the places people actually want to go.

For anyone living with dementia, familiarity does a lot of the work, so we send the same care workers wherever we possibly can and keep visits to a recognisable shape. More broadly, we would rather build a small reliable team around each person than treat visits as slots to be filled by whoever happens to be free.

We agree the plan with the person, and with family when that is wanted, and we revisit it as things change. If we think somebody needs more support than we are providing, we say so.
