About Helping Hands
We are Helping Hands Sale, a home care agency supporting people in their own homes in Sale and the surrounding parts of Trafford. We work with older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Home care turns on details that look small from outside. Whether the carer arrives when they said they would. Whether it is the same carer. Whether they know that a particular door sticks, that the post needs bringing in, that one subject is best left alone this week. We put our effort into getting those right, because the technical side of care is the easier half of the job. With dementia, continuity is not a nicety. A familiar person at the door is often the difference between a visit that works and one that ends badly for everybody, and we arrange rotas around that as far as we are able. Where somebody has a sensory impairment we communicate in the way that works for them and leave a home exactly as we found it, because a moved chair is a hazard rather than an untidiness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
