About Families Care
Families Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Leek and across the Staffordshire Moorlands. We visit older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. In this part of Staffordshire, rounds are long and the weather is not always helpful, so dependability is what we concentrate on. We plan rotas so that the same carers visit the same households, which is also how somebody comes to know a person well enough to notice when they are eating less, sleeping badly or growing confused. Support might include help with getting up and going to bed, washing and dressing, assistance with medication, preparing meals, help around the house and with shopping, and getting out to appointments or into town. For families who are caring for a relative themselves, we can provide regular cover so that they get a proper break. We assess at home before anything starts, agree the plan with the person, put it in writing and review it as needs change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking into care at home in the Leek area, please ring us and we will talk through the options honestly and without pressure.
