About Us

We are Del Healthcare, based in Bristol and working across the city and South Gloucestershire, and we provide care in people's own homes. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and younger adults.

Home care rests on two things: the right people, and enough consistency for those people to know the person they visit. We take recruitment slowly and seriously as a result, and we would rather turn work down than send somebody who has not been properly trained and introduced. Families notice that long before they notice anything we could put in a brochure.

Every arrangement starts with a conversation in the person's own home. How does the day run now? What has become difficult? What do you still want to do yourself, and where would a hand actually help? From those answers we agree the pattern of visits, which might be one short call a day, several, or a longer stretch so that a relative caring full time gets a genuine break. We expect to change the plan as needs move.

For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than any technique, so continuity of staff is something we work at rather than mention in passing.
