We are a home care agency with a straightforward aim, which is to make it possible for people to stay where they want to be for as long as that is sensible and safe. Most of our work is with older people who need help with the ordinary things that have become harder, washing and dressing, medication, preparing meals, shopping and getting out of the house. We also support younger adults, whose circumstances and priorities are often very different from what people expect of home care, and we plan their support accordingly rather than offering a standard package. We try to send the same carers to the same people week after week. It sounds like a small point of scheduling, but it is the difference between being cared for by someone who knows you and being visited by a stranger with a list. It also means our team notice quickly when something has changed. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. Until then, judge us on whether we turn up when we said, whether we stay the full time and whether we ring you rather than waiting for you to ring us when something needs sorting out.
