About Us

One Love Home Care provides care and support in people's own homes across Taunton and the surrounding part of Somerset. We work with older adults, younger adults, people living with dementia, and people living with physical disabilities.

Home care sounds simple and is not. It depends above all on reliability, because somebody waiting to be helped out of bed cannot usefully do anything else for an hour. We plan our rotas around that and would rather take on less work than accept more than we can cover properly.

The support ranges from short calls for prompting and safety checks through to several longer visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals, company and getting out of the house. We agree it with the person, put it in writing they can actually read, and revisit it when their situation changes.

For people living with dementia we rely on familiarity above all. The same carer, at the same time, in a home the person already understands, does more good than anything else we could bring to the situation.

Where we support younger adults and people with physical disabilities, the emphasis shifts towards removing obstacles rather than taking things over.
