About Kelso Care Consortium Supported Living Services
We are Kelso Care Consortium, a home care and supported living provider working with people across Birmingham and the Solihull area. Our work happens in the places people already call home, because we believe that staying somewhere familiar, with your own front door and your own routines, is worth a great deal. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, and people living with sight or hearing loss. That is a broad range, and it means we never arrive with a fixed plan. We start by asking what a good week actually looks like for you, then build the support around that. For one person this might mean help with personal care and medication in the morning. For another it might mean someone alongside them at college, at work, or on the bus into town. Consistency matters enormously in this kind of work, so we introduce support workers properly and keep the same small team around a person wherever we can. Trust takes time to build and no rota should undo it. We work closely with families, social workers and health professionals, though the person we support always leads the conversation about their own life. Where someone finds it hard to speak for themselves, we take extra care to understand what they are telling us in other ways. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. We are pleased with that and we keep looking honestly at where we can improve.
