About Us
Shropshire Care in the Community provides care and support to people in their own homes in and around Shrewsbury. We work with older people and with younger adults, and we support people living with dementia or with mental ill health, people with a learning disability, people who are autistic, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use.
That is a broad range, and it is deliberate. People do not fit neatly into categories, and somebody who needs help with personal care may also be managing their mental health or rebuilding their independence after a difficult period. We try to look at the whole situation rather than a single label.
Support is agreed with the person from the outset. It might be a short call each morning, several visits a day, or help that increases and then falls away again as somebody recovers. We are clear about what we can provide and honest when another kind of support would suit better.
Consistency of carers is something we work hard at, because rural rounds can be long and familiarity is what makes a visit worth having.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
