We are a home care agency in Tipton, supporting people in their own homes across Sandwell and the surrounding area. Most of our work is with older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability. Home care stands or falls on reliability, so that is where we put our effort. Arriving when we said we would. Sending workers who have been to the house before. Ringing the family when something seems wrong instead of leaving a note on the table. None of it is clever, and all of it is the difference between help that helps and help that adds to the worry. Where dementia is involved we take our lead from the household, because the family already knows the triggers, the words that work and the hour of the day that is difficult. We would far rather be told at the start than find out slowly by getting it wrong. Visits cover washing and dressing, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and getting out, from half an hour upwards, and we aim to send the same few workers to each household. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no rating to point you at. We would rather say so plainly. Call us and judge us on the visit.
