About Home1st
We provide care at home in Oldbury and across Sandwell, supporting people of all ages who want to stay living in their own houses. Rather than offer one narrow kind of support, we take time to understand what a particular person needs in order to live the way they want. We support older people, including those living with dementia, where the same familiar carers arriving at familiar times does more good than anything else we can arrange. We work with adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and with younger adults who want to live independently with help in the right places. We also support people living with mental health needs, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, adjusting how we communicate and how we work so that support is genuinely usable rather than merely well meant. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather say so plainly than imply something we have not earned, and we welcome direct questions about how we recruit, train and supervise the people who will be coming into your home. If you would like to discuss care at home in this area, please get in touch and we will be straightforward with you.
