About Care2Home
We are Care2Home Sandwell, based in Oldbury, and we provide care in people's own homes across the borough. The people we visit are a varied group: older people, many living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Because that range is wide, we do not work from a fixed package. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home about how the day actually runs, what has become difficult, what somebody still wants to do for themselves, and what would make the biggest difference. The plan comes from that, and we revise it as needs move, which they do. Support might mean help with washing and dressing, a prompt and a check with medication, a meal cooked and eaten with company, help getting safely about the house, support to get out to work, college or the shops, or reliable company for somebody who has become isolated. For autistic people especially, predictability counts for a great deal, so we explain changes in advance and keep staffing steady wherever the rota allows. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so ourselves than have you discover it later. We are happy to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our carers, so please ring and put us to the test.
