About Us

We are Home Instead Senior Care Retford and Gainsborough, providing care at home for older people across Retford, Gainsborough and the surrounding parts of Nottinghamshire. Our carers come to people where they live and help with the parts of the day that have become harder to manage alone.

Most of our work is with older adults who want to stay independent at home. We help with personal care, medication, meals, household routines, shopping and getting out and about, and we support people living with dementia, where our aim is to keep the day calm, familiar and unhurried. We also support younger adults whose circumstances mean they need care at home.

Everything starts with a proper conversation about how a person likes their day to run, what they would rather keep managing for themselves, and where support would genuinely help. The plan is agreed, written down and revisited when circumstances change. We put real effort into sending the same carers to the same households, because companionship is a large part of what we offer and it does not work with a stranger at the door each week.

Our carers are trained and supervised, and they are expected to raise anything that concerns them straight away rather than leave it for a review.
