About Us

The Firs Residential Care Home provides care and support to people in their own homes across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The people we support are varied, and so is the support itself. We work with older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and the running of the house. We work with people living with dementia, and we keep the same small team going in wherever we can, because a familiar face does more good than anything else we could arrange. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults who want support fitted around work, study or family life rather than in place of it.

We also provide support on a short term basis, which can give a family carer a planned break or cover the weeks after a hospital admission when somebody needs more help than usual before getting back to normal.

How we work matters. Plans are agreed with the person, written plainly and reviewed properly. Where somebody communicates in a particular way, our staff learn it before they start. If something is not working, we want to hear quickly rather than late.

If you are thinking about care for yourself or a relative, please contact us and we will talk it through with you honestly.
