About Us

We are Bluebird Care in Newark and Sherwood, and we provide care in people's own homes across the area. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults.

We think good home care comes down to two things, neither of them complicated. The first is sending carers who are properly trained and then keeping them with the same households, so that the person being visited is known rather than processed. The second is doing what we said we would do, when we said we would do it, and telling families promptly when something has to change.

Every arrangement starts with a conversation in the person's own home. How does the day run now? What has become difficult? What do you still want to do for yourself, and where would help genuinely help? From there we agree the visits, from a short morning call to several a day, or longer visits so that a relative caring full time can get out properly. We revise the plan as needs move.

For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than any technique, so continuity of staff is what we work at hardest rather than treating it as a bonus.
