About Us

Just Ask Care and Support provides care at home for people in Skipton and the surrounding dales. We are a community organisation rather than a business run for profit, and what we earn goes back into the support we provide locally.

For older people we help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and drinks, laundry, shopping and keeping the house comfortable, and we help people get out, whether that is to an appointment, to the shops or simply for some air. In a rural area getting out takes more planning than people expect, and it is often the part that matters most.

For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers visiting wherever we can, follow the routine the household already has and leave things where they belong. We support adults with mental health needs, where reliability and respect do most of the good, and people with a physical disability who need help to move safely at home. Where somebody has sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate. We also support younger adults around their own commitments.

Our care workers are local and trained for the people they visit, and they notice when something has changed because they know the household.
