About Totus Care

We are Totus Care, based in Kettering and supporting people in their own homes across North Northamptonshire. The people we work with cover a broad range. Older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition or an eating disorder, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults building independent lives. With a spread like that we do not offer a standard package. We visit first, talk properly with the person and with family where that is wanted, and agree what the support should genuinely cover. For some it is a short call each morning. For others it is several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and the running of a household, or support that is far more about routine and encouragement than about practical tasks. Where a person's needs call for specialist understanding, we prepare the carers going in rather than leaving them to work it out on the doorstep. And we keep the same carers with the same households wherever the rota allows, because trust is what this work runs on. We liaise with GPs, district nurses, community teams and social workers.
