About Us

Aylsham Homecare provides care and support in people's own homes across Norwich and the surrounding part of Norfolk. We work with older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss.

At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding overall. We are pleased with it and careful with it, because a rating describes one week of work and everything that earned it has to keep happening afterwards.

What lies behind it is not complicated. We turn up when we said we would. We send carers the household already knows rather than whoever happens to be free. We build proper time into visits, because a real conversation and a meal eaten together cannot be done at speed. And we take seriously the parts that appear in no care plan: knowing how somebody takes their tea, noticing that the post has not been opened, understanding that a quarter of an hour of talk may be the only conversation somebody has that day.

Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, habits matter more than equipment. Saying who we are as we come in. Leaving furniture exactly where it lives. Checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and actually working.
