About Us

We are Thornage Hall Independent Living, near Holt in Norfolk, and we provide support to adults in their own homes. Much of our work is with adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, including younger adults who are building a life of their own, and we also support older people who need help to stay living at home. Independent living is the point rather than the label. We help with the practical business of running a household, so that covers cooking, shopping, cleaning, budgeting, medication, appointments and keeping a tenancy going, along with personal care where somebody needs it. Just as importantly, we help people do the things that make a week worth having, whether that is work, volunteering, a course, a club, the horticulture and craft that this part of Norfolk lends itself to, or simply seeing friends and family. Our approach is to work out what each person can do, what they want to learn, and where they genuinely need us, and then to step back wherever stepping back is right.
