About Us
Femix Care is a home care agency in Newport Pagnell, supporting people in their own homes across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with mental health needs.
The job is to keep a household going so that somebody can stay where they want to be, and most of it is practical. Getting a person up and washed without leaving them feeling handled. Help with dressing, which sounds minor until buttons and shoes become impossible. Medication at the right time, in the right order, recorded properly. A meal actually cooked. Shopping, laundry and a tidy kitchen. Help to move safely about a home that may no longer suit its owner.
For people living with dementia we keep the same small group of carers going to the same homes, because familiarity is what makes a visit calm and a familiar carer is the one who spots trouble early. For people with mental health needs, what usually helps is structure rather than tasks, and a presence that does not vanish when a fortnight goes badly.
