About Us
We are SCP Complex Care, based in Lewisham and supporting people in their own homes.
We work with people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people with a visual or hearing impairment.
Complex care is in our name because it is what we are set up for. The people we support often need more than a standard package can provide, whether that is because of the level of physical support required, the equipment involved, the way somebody communicates, or the sheer number of things that have to be got right in a day. We plan around that properly rather than stretching an ordinary arrangement to fit.
That means carers are trained for the individual rather than in the abstract, and we make sure a worker understands how a particular person communicates and what their routines are before they support them alone. It also means we keep the same small team around a household, because in this kind of work continuity is not a comfort, it is a safety matter.
We work closely with families, social workers, therapists, community teams and GPs.
