About Us
New Dawn Healthcare provides care and support to people in their own homes in Lewisham and the surrounding part of London. We work with older people, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities.
We will be straight with you about our rating. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us requires improvement overall. We are not going to present that as anything other than what it is. We accepted the findings, we have been working through them, and we would rather you heard it from us and put your questions to us directly.
The work itself is easy to describe and hard to do consistently. Turn up when we said we would, stay for the time agreed, know the person we are visiting, and do what they want done rather than what is convenient. Personal care, medication, meals, shopping, laundry, appointments and company all come into it, and so does noticing when something is wrong and telling somebody.
Support is agreed with each person in their own home, with family or an advocate involved where they wish, and reviewed when circumstances change. For autistic people we give notice of change in advance and keep the visiting team small. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we work alongside their community team.
