About Jamacare
We are Jamacare, a home care agency supporting adults in Lewisham and the surrounding parts of south London. We provide care in people's own homes. Most of the people we visit are older adults, and many are living with dementia. We also support people with physical disabilities and younger adults who need help with personal care, moving safely around the house, medication, meals and the ordinary business of getting through the week. For some people that is a short call in the morning. For others it is several visits a day. In a part of London as varied as this one, we pay attention to language, faith and food as a matter of course, because care that overlooks those things is not really personal care at all. We believe good home care is mostly about reliability. Turning up, staying the agreed time, noticing when something has changed and telling somebody who can act on it. None of that is complicated, but it takes organising properly, and it is what people actually judge us on. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we have, please ask us direct questions about how we recruit, train and supervise our staff, and who you can reach out of hours.
