About Us

Bridgewater Home Care supports people in their own homes in Market Harborough and across the surrounding part of Leicestershire. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults.

Home care is done on somebody else's territory, in their kitchen and their front room, to their standards rather than ours. We think that is a privilege and we recruit with it in mind. The practical work matters a great deal, personal care, medication, meals, mobility and keeping a household running, but so does the manner in which it is done.

Before support starts we spend proper time working out what would genuinely help, what a person would rather manage themselves and how they like things done in their own home. Then we build a small, settled team around them, because a familiar face at the door changes the whole feel of a visit.

For people living with dementia that consistency is the most useful thing we can offer, and it is the first thing lost when a rota is run for the provider's convenience. We protect it. Where somebody has a sensory impairment we adapt how we communicate and leave the home exactly as they expect to find it.
