About Us

Bluebirdcare in Loughborough and Ashby de la Zouch supports people in their own homes across this part of Leicestershire. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people living with a mental health condition, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss.

The reason we work in people's homes is simple enough. Familiar surroundings do an enormous amount of good, particularly for anyone living with dementia, and moving somebody out of them should be a last option rather than a first one. Our job is to make staying at home workable and safe without making it feel institutional.

Visits are planned around the person's day. We find out when you like to get up, how you take your tea, what you would rather do yourself and what you would gladly hand over. Then we agree a plan, put a small and consistent team around it, and review it honestly as things change.

We keep families properly informed, including when something has not gone to plan. Trust in this work is built almost entirely on what you do when something goes wrong.
