About Us
The Samsons Care provides home care to adults in Leicester and the surrounding area. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, and people with physical disabilities.
Most people contact us for a straightforward reason. They intend to stay in their own home, and a handful of practical difficulties are getting in the way. So those are what we take on: help with washing and dressing, medicines taken as they should be, meals cooked and actually eaten, the housework and the shopping kept under control, and a reliable way of getting out to appointments and to see people.
We arrange visits around the person's day rather than around ours, and we would rather agree a pattern we can genuinely keep than an ambitious one that falls apart in the first difficult week. We keep the group of care workers around each person small, because meeting an unfamiliar face at the door unsettles anybody and particularly somebody living with dementia. Where somebody has a physical disability, we agree together how they want to be helped and how much time they actually need.
We agree the support with the person and, where they want it, with their family, and we look at the plan again whenever circumstances change rather than leaving it as it was first written.
