About Care Counts

Care Counts supports people in their own homes across Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, those with visual or hearing impairments and younger adults. We chose our name because we believe the small things decide whether home care works. Turning up when we said we would. Remembering that someone likes their curtains left a certain way. Noticing that a person has become quieter or is eating less than they were. None of that appears on a task list and all of it matters. Our visits cover personal care, medication, meals, mobility, help getting up and settling at night and support to get out into the community. We plan around each person's existing routine rather than asking anyone to reshape their day around ours, and we protect continuity of staff as far as we can. For autistic adults and people with learning disabilities, we pay close attention to predictability, communication and sensory needs. For people with sensory impairments we adapt our approach rather than expecting anyone to adapt to us. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you are considering support for yourself or a relative, we are happy to visit, listen properly and be honest about what we could offer.
