About Us

We are Springfield Healthcare in Hull, and we provide care and support in people's own homes across the city. We support older people, adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, people with physical disabilities and younger adults.

Our work divides roughly into two kinds. For older people it is usually about reliable help at the harder points of the day, so that somebody can carry on living in their own home rather than moving somewhere unfamiliar. For adults with learning disabilities, autistic people and younger adults it is more about building and keeping a life: managing a home, handling money and post, and getting out to work, college and the places somebody actually wants to be.

What runs through both is consistency. The same staff wherever the rota allows, routines that hold, and changes explained in advance rather than sprung on people. For autistic people that predictability is a need rather than a preference, and we take sensory comfort seriously for the same reason.

Support is planned with the person, in their own words, alongside family and professionals where they want them involved, and we review it as circumstances change. Wherever we can, we help somebody do a thing rather than doing it for them, because a skill used is a skill kept.
